Oral Sedation Dentistry
Oral sedation is a simple method of sedation dentistry in which a prescribed pill is taken about an hour before your appointment will help you feel calm and relaxed. There are no needles required, and you can even stay toasty under one of our warm blankets during your dental procedure.
IV Sedation Dentistry
Intravenous sedation dentistry also referred to as IV sedation dentistry, is considered a moderate form of sedation dentistry. Patients who choose this option typically have moderate to severe anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist.
Sedation medication is administered intravenously prior to the procedure and your vital signs are closely monitored throughout. You remain conscious and are able to follow directions, but you will have no memory of the procedure after the medication wears off.
Nitrous Oxide for Sedation Dentistry
Also known as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is a commonly used method of sedation dentistry. This colorless, odorless gas is administered through a nose piece and helps you become relaxed. After a brief recovery period, you will even be able to drive yourself home.
